She is also abundant of natural' resources: there is still a big "area of cultivating land, many rivers and their tributaries constitute the main source of living for many plants, animals and various aquatic animals which is the basic resources for the socio-economic development and plays an important role in contributing to the GDP. more>>>

The debate on the amended draft Forest Law in the second day of the fourth ordinary session of the National Assembly (sixth legislature) was on full swing and in the morning session, 6 November, the debate with views, which supported and requested clarification and addition to some articles, ended.

 At the fist day of the fourth ordinary session of the National Assembly (NA) (sixth legislature) NA members debate some articles of the Forest Law, which was adopted by the NA (fifth legislature) in 1996. It consists of seven Parts and 75 Articles. The new amended Law on Forest would have 13 Parts and 128 Articles. more>>>

Fourth ordinary session of the National Assembly begins

The opening ceremony of the fourth ordinary session of the National Assembly (NA) (sixth legislature) is held here today, 5 December 2007, at the NA conference room, Vientiane capital. Mr Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Executive Party Central Committee, President of Lao PDR, party and government high-ranking officials, representatives of international organisations and diplomatic corps among National Assembly’s members attend the opening ceremony.
