1963 - 1979:

 

 

Teacher and Deputy Director of Xamneua secondary school and head of Education office in Xiengkhor District, Director of upper secondary school and teacher training college in Sobxai and Nakhao of Viangxay district , Deputy Director General of Personnel, Department and deputy director general of vocational department and also Acting Director General of  Personnel Department, Ministry of Education.
1982-1988:

 

 President of the Committee for Press, Newspaper and Radio, Deputy Director of Propaganda and training Board of the party Central Committee and Ministry of Culture.
1989-2002:

 

 President of People's Supreme Assembly, Acting President of People's Supreme Assembly, Politburo member , Head of Personnel Committee of Party Central Committee and standing member of  party Politburo.
2002-2006: Politburo Member, Secretary of  Party Committee of Vientiane and Mayor of Vientiane Capital.
