A plenary session of the commission for economic, planning and finance of the National Assembly (NA) was held on May 13-14 under the chairmanship of its President Mrs. Souvanpheng Bouphanouvong. The meeting was attended by high ranking officials from central and local authorities, including vice chairman of NA’s all commissions, the vice governor of Vientiane Province and foreign experts.

National Assembly President Mrs. Pany Yathortou visited on 1-4 May the district of Paklai of Sayaboury province to boost the social-economic development. Mrs. Pany was briefed about the activities on three-built directive and agricultural development by district’s authority and she then held a talk with leading and senior officials from the district.

President of the National Assembly, Mrs Pany Yathortou, on April 30 received new British Ambassador to the Lao PDR, Mr. Philip Malone at the National Assembly, Vientiane Capital. At the amicable talks, Mrs. Pany appreciated the appointment to the post of Mr Malone which would further enhance the cooperation between the Lao PDR and the United Kingdom.

A Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA) organized last week its monthly meeting for April. The one day event was chaired by Mrs. Pany Yathortou, President of NA and was attended by Vice President of NA, member of NA standing committee and sector concerned.
